A team of the Radio Television Suisse, the Swiss broadcasting channel in French, filmed the Global Commission on Drug Policy during its 2013 Plenary meeting in Geneva, and interviewed several commissioners for its documentary “Drug prohibition: the end of the road”.
The documentary showcases the failure of the war on drugs: “After 40 years of drug war, the conclusion is clear: around the world, hunting traffickers and punishing consumers are a failure. The time has come to look at other solutions: remove the prohibition, legalize cannabis or hard drugs likePortugal? The movement is running. Uruguay, Spain, and the United States (Colorado and Washington) have legalized under certain conditions. And soon Geneva? An all-party group isworking on the legalization of recreational cannabis”.
