Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group and member of the Global Commission on Drug Policy, this week receives the Peace Summit Award at the 16th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates for his work in global peace building.
Sir Richard Branson has been a member of the Global Commission on Drug Policy since its inception in 2011, largely contributing to its groundbreaking reports that highlight the failure of prohibition and call for an end to the criminalization of people who use drugs, as well as the regulation of all currently illicit substances.
The World Summit this year is being held on 2-5 February 2017 in Bogotà, Colombia, home country to the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, President Juan Manuel Santos.
